Ali Nuru Moon

Ali moved from Istanbul to Cape Town a few years ago, bringing a love of ornamental pattern, talismanic motifs and heavy blackwork with him.

Her tattoos sit somewhere between traditional ornament and contemporary blackwork — bold, symmetrical, and built to last.

She's happiest working on larger flowing pieces: sleeves, panels and chest plates designed around the body.
